TECHNOLOGY STATUS REPORT

Status Summary

To sum up since my last written report was in July. August was a standard month of ensuring that our
campus technology was ready for staff and students coming back. Zach worked diligently on making
sure all student devices were tested and updated, then assigned and sorted for students to be issued
in their home room. We ended up having students pick up their issued computer on the second day of
school. Because my order of additional devices was running late our counts for covering everyone was
tight. We did get a break in that there was a larger number of running start students then anticipated,
and typically we do not assign a device to running start students. There are some who still attend an
advanced level math class and that class is very dependent on technology in those cases we setup a
check out cart in the library for those students.

There were some glitches with staff printing to start the year due to the update of our printer server,
but once we identified the issue it was remedied as we meet up with staff, unfortunately it did take a
personal or virtual visit to correct the issue.

Some good news Kalama School District was awarded two grants that | applied for. One is centered
around Cybersecurity, and it will allow me to contract a 3 party vendor to help do a GAP analysis of
our current Cybersecurity posture and develop our frameworks for this we were awarded $30,000.00.
The other grant is to replace lost, stolen and broken devices | was able to ask for $24,645.00 which
had a maximum of $25,000.00.

Projects:
Cybersecurity: Start working with our 3 party vendor to complete our GAP analysis.
Fiscal: Start evaluating strategies and opportunities to reduce overall costs.

Safety: Update the Kalama Safety Plan to include SRP frameworks.
