One of the areas that has had a dramatic, positive impact on student learning and student engagement is her work with reading fluency. She regularly met with students 1:1 during her planning time to assess their reading fluency. She then provided consistent, empowering communication with parents, so they had resources and action steps to support their children's reading fluency growth. This work had a huge impact on student achievement!
