Glenda
Elgersma

Going Above
and Beyond

Glenda has taken the lead on so many
projects. One of the areas that has had a
dramatic, positive impact on student learning
and student engagement is her work with
reading fluency. She regularly met with
students 1:1 during her planning time to
assess their reading fluency. She then
provided consistent, empowering
communication with parents, so they had
resources and action steps to support their

children's reading fluency growth. This work

had a huge impact on student achievement!
