e Purpose: Outlines the process for updating and
maintaining board policy.
e Revisions:
o Removes the requirement to maintain a paper copy of
Manuals at the district office

e Purpose: Sets the requirement to adopt annual
district-wide performance improvement goals for
student learning. (School Improvement Plan process)

e Revisions:

o Title change from “Accountability Goals” to

o Now encouraged because it is not explicitly required by
law

o Nolonger a requirement for a news release

e Purpose: Requires the board to plan for evaluating

e Revisions:
o Examination of assessment materials can be made by
contacting a designee

e Purpose: Outlines referral, assessment and eligibility
determination for highly capable service.
e Revisions:
o Changes wording from “among the most highly
capable” to “determined to need services”

e Purpose: Establishes graduation requirements with
State Board of Education Guidance and local
guidance.

e Revisions:

e Purpose: Provides guidelines for local CTE courses

e Purpose: Sets the requirement that prior to paying
claims they are audited for proof that goods and
services have been received

e Revisions:

o Auditing must take place prior to being submitted to the
board

o Codifies our current practice of the board reviewing and
approving warrants

o Allows advance payment of a claim if a penalty, late fee, or
interest would be incurred on an unpaid balance

6217/6217P Electronic Funds

Transfer (New Encouraged)

e Purpose: Authorizes and defines the implementation of
Electronic Funds Transfers
e Revisions:

o Requires we work with the County Treasurer and our banks
to ensure our financial software works well with their
systems

o Requires a dedicated EFT account that carries only the
balance necessary for account maintenance

o Outlines steps for validation of new EFT requests and
requires their use until rescinded in writing by the vendor

o Requires adequate accounting controls be in place
