Fostering a Sense of Belonging

Belonging is a core value in the South Kitsap School District. We are passionate
about building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable learning environment
for all students and staff. We actively seek to understand the complex and rich
identities of self and others and lean into and engage in courageous
conversations. We know the educational environment is enhanced when diverse
groups of people with unique ideas come together to learn and grow.

Working with an engagement consultant:

New South Kitsap Employees were surveyed about their experiences over the first 5
months on the job in areas such as:

Sense of Accomplishment
Autonomy

Clear Expectations
Environment

Growth

Recognition
Relationships at Work
Anticipated Retention

The survey covered new employees from all areas including bus drivers,
paraeducators, certificated instructional and administrative staff.
