Re: Board Report — Child Nutrition Services — July 2024

e F/R Percentages: Based on the October 2023 building data our district is at 63% Free
and Reduced.

e Direct Certification is uploaded 2 times per month to ensure we have the most up to date
benefit information.

e Community Eligibility Provision (CEP):

e Meal Prices: We are a CEP school district with the exception of West Sound Tech, we
will continue to provide meals at no cost to all Bremerton School District Students.

e Meal Participation (September 2023-May 2024): 298,336 Breakfasts 454,999 Lunches

e Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant (FFVG) : We just got the approval for school year
2024-2025! We will be offering the FFVG at all elementary schools with the exception of
Kitsap Lake and Crownhill

e Dairy Bid: South Kitsap has gone out to bid again this year. We will be joining them again
for 24-25 SY

e Vended Sites: Catalyst Public Schools are our only vended site contract we have on file
as of now. We are still in discussions with Kitsap Mental Health, deciding whether they
want to renew the contract for SY 24-25.

e Summer Meal Sites: We will be serving at 11 sites this summer varying locations, the
majority will operate Monday - Friday. We started a new partnership at the Marvin

Williams Recreation Center this year
